Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2016
The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is an upgrade for Windows 10 PCs and which has rolled out for August 2016. Here you can find out about the biggest highlights of the product and how you can license it:
Changes in the pricing model
Up until now, pricing has been based vertically. Now it is based on the type/performance of processors.
You can see the differentiation in the image below:
The license prices vary depending on the type of processor you are using.
We are happy to send you an offer, based on your specific need and/or Tier level.
From the technical standpoint, there is no difference in between the 3 license options. It´s the same installation media without any feature restriction.
Attention: The processor based licensing model will replace the vertical license model from Windows 10 LTSB 2015 next year.
CBB version will be available as well
We already have the Windows 10 IoT LTSB (Long Term Servicing Branch) in the embedded channel. Now Microsoft will make the CBB version (Current Branch for Business) available to the channel later this summer as well. The CBB Version will include the Store, Cortana and the Edge browser. However, every 4 months, it needs to be updated with the important upgrades.
Virtualization is here
One of the biggest changes and at the same time the biggest highlight is Virtualization within the Embedded business. Virtualization rights come with the High End Win 32 Enterprise Version. You’re allowed to virtualize the High End Win 32 Enterprise on your device.
